Cookies Galore! we baked, decorated, and delivered ~150 cookies to the senior citizens center in downtown parkersburg to help make their valentine's day a little brighter. thanks so much to steve, brian, julie, craig, and scott for helping to put an end to all of that icing!!!

brian reported on the first relay for life captain's meeting. relay this year will be may 16 and 17, so mark your calendars! if you'd like to get involved with this HUGE parkersburg activity to raise money for the american cancer society, and are looking for a team, join us!!! applications and the $10 participation fee is due march 3! thanks to brian for agreeing to be our team captain!!!

we're still looking for a potential eagle (or star, etc.) scout interested in taking the lead on the jefferson elementary school Fort Fun garden revamping project. the troup would get involved in the work for a landscaping type merit badge, and local motives would provide some financial and a lot of labor and planning help!

PHS is hosting a blood drive Tuesday, March 25, 2003 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at the PHS Field House. Among all the standards, here are 2 extra great reasons to give: 1 - If a school exceeds its goal for number of units donated, the American Red Cross provides a grant that supports a student scholarship (last year, PHS received $1,000) - scholarships are good! and 2 - the theme is "Give a pint; get a pint" - a store has donated ice cream so that every donor gets a pint of ice cream!!!

our next meeting will be 3/7, 7 pm, at pizza hut. bring your personal calendars, as we'll be scheduling weekend excursions through the rest of the year to explore more of our wild state and its' attractions - like the Palace of Gold in Moundsville, and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and lots more!
